news and announcements

Nippon Keidanren, the Japan Business Federation, is a comprehensive economic organization created in May 2002 through the merging of Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organizations) and Nikkeiren (Japan Federation of Employers' Associations). Our membership is comprised of 1,662 companies (of which 1,351 are leading companies and nearly 100 are foreign- owned), 129 industrial associations, and 47 regional employers' associations.

Our mission is to help achieve a private sector-led vital and affluent economy and society in Japan.   Keidanren believes that establishment of a free, fair, and transparent market economy under the principles of self-responsibility is essential.  The private sector, in promoting healthy economic growth in Japan, will in turn contribute to the health of the global economy.

Keidanren-USA is the Washington DC office of Nippon Keidanren. Keidanren-USA’s mission is to promote greater understanding in the United States of the importance of the bilateral trade and investment relationship to the US and Japanese economies, and to support policies that strengthen bilateral trade relations.
